The AASW WA Branch Symposium aims to enhance the awareness, develop practice skills and knowledge for social workers working in Trauma Recovery. This Symposium aims to highlight trauma informed best practice and to provide an opportunity for social workers and human service professionals to engage in the latest research, practice models and frameworks.
Call for abstracts
We invite you to share your knowledge, research, projects and programs for the Branch’s Trauma: Structuring Recovery, Creating Healing Spaces Symposium.
Trauma Informed Care is considered the gold-standard of working with clients who have experienced trauma. As health professionals, we need to know best practice; emerging trends and acquire and refresh our skill set to offer the highest standard of care and affect the best outcomes for our clients.
We are looking to complement our line-up of speakers with education and plenary sessions to upskill and add value to our sector. If you would like to be part of the team of presenters at the Symposium, please submit an abstract of no more than 600 words outlining a 40-minute presentation/plenary session in line with the theme Contemporary Responses to Trauma for Social Work and Allied Health Professionals.
Please also include a short biography of yourself (no longer than 250 words) as well as a list of publications or presentations in support of your application.
