Presenting a One Day Workshop on
“Working with Adolescents and their families strategically and briefly.”
Engaging adolescent in therapeutic work can be challenging especially in the field of Child and Youth Mental Health. Some will come willingly with their families for a brief period while others might only attend once or twice. Nevertheless, the impact of such therapeutic contact can be significant. This workshop focuses on using an approach that incorporates Strategic family therapy and brief therapy to work with families and their adolescent children struggling with mental health difficulties. The learning objectives are:
- Overview of Strategic Family Therapy & Brief Therapy
- Some key developmental concept on adolescence
- How therapist can engage adolescents and their families in therapy? Doing effective therapy with adolescent strategically and briefly
Raymond has been working as a mental health social worker both overseas and in Australia for the last 25 years. In the last 19 years, he has been working in the public mental health system specialising in child and youth mental health and systemic & family therapy. In the last few years, Raymond has been providing clinical supervision and training to professionals and therapists in both public and private sectors.
Raymond is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker in Australian Association of Social Work, Member of Australian College of Social Work, a Clinical Member of Australian Association of Family Therapy, a Certified Gottman Couple Therapist and member of International Society of Hypnosis.
