Do you know someone you think should be recognised for for their work in family therapy?

ANZJFT Journal Award

The ANZJFT Journal Award was established in 1994, and is presented at the Annual AAFT conference to an individual or group who has made a distinguished contribution to Family Therapy in Australia. An honour roll of all previous recipients is on the ANZJFT website.

The award was not chosen in 2020 due to COVID 19.  The 2019 recipient was Elisabeth Shaw, currently CEO of Relationships Australia NSW, for her contribution to teaching, governance, practice and ethics in the family therapy field over 30 years, as well as her influence making family therapy more visible in the wider community through her work in supervision and governance.  Her article in InPsych is a good example of introducing family therapy to a wider audience.

We are currently calling for nominations for the 2021 award.

The contribution can take the form of an exceptional contribution in a particular domain or prominence across several activities, including:

– Development of key services
– Teaching/development of training programs
– Research and scholarly publications
– Contributions to key family therapy organisations
– Representation of family therapy concerns in the wider community

If you would like more information about what to include in your nomination to demonstrate your nominee’s contribution, please contact Margaret Goldfinch on the address below.
